A Look at the Music Possibilities of the All New O2 Cocoon

O2 is not one of the companies which people look towards to get phones that have heavy multimedia capabilities. With the O2 Cocoon, the company has made a good attempt to change this perception. The Cocoon has a number of multimedia features which would make it look a good option for the people who have planned to get a multimedia capable phone.

Taking up the music capabilities of the device – this phone is equipped with dedicated multimedia keys. These key allow you to control the music playback on your phone regardless of it being used in the shell open or the shell closed mode. The phone also comes with an adapter that allows you to share your music. O2 has already put in some music from The Doors, Ash and Paulo Nutini on the device and it has a capacity of storing anywhere around 500 music files.

You can create your own play lists on the phone and it comes with support for ID3 tags and album art display. The battery of this phone allows you to listen to music for as long as 15 hours. In case you engage the Cocoon mode, the music would be played only and the phone would log all the missed calls. It is possible to fade the music playback when you get a call, pause it or lower its volume. This means that you can keep on enjoying music in the background while you are still talking to the person on call.

The music can be sent to the phone using Windows Media Player 11. If you have Apple Quick Time installed on your computer, it might be possible to view music videos on your phone. The company has also put in an FM tuner in the phone. In case you get bored listening to the music you have loaded on the phone, you can always move on to the FM radio and tune into your favorite stations to get music and a lot of other information. It remains to be seen if the phone’s FM tuner has support for RDS or not!
